It’s that time of year when scratchy throats, sniffles, and tickling coughs seem to show up out of the blue. Being sick is never fun. And while it’s true that sometimes you just have to let viruses run their course, I like to do one better and prevent them in the first place.
My favorite feel good beverage is this tangy green lemonade made with fresh lemons, ginger and a heaping spoonful of green powder. All the ingredients work together not just to soothe irritation and inflammation, but to make sure your immune system is running as efficiently as possible.
Immune-Boosting Green Lemonade
There are a few things you can do to keep your immune system humming during cold and flu season. Eating healthy, exercising and getting enough sleep show up at the top of just about every how-to-stay-well roundup. And while it seems easy enough, in practice I’ve found it to be a totally different story. There aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all, so it’s important to keep my to do list—and my nutrition—as simple as possible. This easy green elixir is the perfect way to get much-needed nutrients without much time and effort.
Truthfully, I really struggled with what to call this drink. I finally settled on “lemonade” despite it sounding like a sugar-packed kids’ drink you find in a can. This isn’t that.
Thanks to potent immune-boosters like lemon, raw honey and ginger, it supports immune function and ensures your body is operating as efficiently as possible. And adding a heaping scoop of BN Labs Organic Greens helps to alkalize, detoxify and soothe the body.
It’s basically a glow-booster in a glass.
Unlike other powdered greens on the market, BN Labs Organic Greens contains over 15 superfoods, like wheat grass, broccoli, kale, sea buckthorn, ashwaganda and spirulina, to pack a nutrient-dense punch.
Honestly, I don’t eat nearly enough vegetables (or superfoods for that matter!) and anything I can do to quickly and easily bump up my intake is right up my alley. I love that these greens are totally organic and way more convenient than buying a $6 juice every day. Just add them to water, smoothies, soup, even your tea. Or whip up a large batch of this lemonade and keep it in the fridge to sip throughout the week.
Because Organic Greens is one of the purest green powders available on the market, you’re getting vitamins, minerals and antioxidants without the fillers, heavy metals or other impurities. They’re made not only to support your body but also to taste great without the lingering unpleasant flavor you’ll find with other brands. (If you’ve tried other powdered greens supplements before, you know what I’m talking about!)
I love Organic Greens because it actually tastes good enough to drink plain—and that can’t be said for most green powders. Organic Greens is lightly sweetened with stevia and contains coconut water powder, matcha green tea and ginger, making it sweeter and less overpowering than you might expect.
Simply add a heaping scoopful to this lemon tonic, plus a little extra lemon or honey to your liking, and I promise it won’t even taste “green”. Then go ahead and sip it cold or feel free to lightly heat it up (just a little or you might destroy the nutrients) if you prefer warm drinks during the colder months.
Cheers to your health!
